The Defense Training Institute conducts a realistic self-defense martial arts and personal security training program. WHAT IS TAUGHT? WARRIOR HAPKIDO COMBATIVES, the warriors way of coordinated power, is the core system of the school and open to the public. The Hapkido that is taught combines traditional Korean Hapkido (Chong Soo Kwan & Sun Moo Kwan Style) along with Guazabara to form what is known as Warrior Hapkido. The term COMBATIVES emphasizes that it is taught as a system of combat and not sport or recreation. KIDKIDO, Hapkido for Kids. The overall purpose of this program is to teach children about the possibility of potentially dangerous situations and how to escape from them. First by teaching a wide variety of techniques that include kicks, hand strikes and joint manipulation and later teaching them to be aware of potentially dangerous situations and how to best deal with them. GUAZÁBARA, Stick & Knife Tribal Fighting, is a 21st century martial art system with origins in the pre-Columbian Caribbean islands. Introduced as a modern martial art, Guazabara is a dynamic indigenous weapons based fighting system that is genuinely unparalleled. Students are able to train in this system only after applying for associate membership in World Guazábara Federation. POLICE COMBATIVES.
